SCORE CARDS & DIAMOND DUTIES
*All cards for the day for each diamond, for each round will be in the 1st Base dug out on a clip Board. Can I ask that the 1st round teams – 1st Base (under 8’s and under 13’s) grab the clip board from office before they head to their diamonds.
*Can we also ask the round 1 teams to each take a rubbish bin from the shed behind diamond 3 and place it near the entry to each dug out, so both players and parents can utilize them.
*The winning team is to bring the score sheet to the drop box by the control room door.
*To assist with Diamond maintenance, can we ask that the team on 3rd Base rake the home plate area, and 1st Base rake the Pitchers are between each game for under 8’s and 11’s. Rakes are in the dugouts and at the shed behind diamond 3.

HOW TO FINISH A GAME – normal round:
Matches are strictly timed for tee ball and Under 13s. At time allow the batter in the box to finish their turn then game is called and the scores revert to the last completed innings.
For Under 15s and up the games are timed HOWEVER if the team second at bat (bottom of the innings) is behind or the score is even and that team can draw or win the game (allowing for our local 7 across the plate rule), then the bottom of the inni…ngs is played out (past regulation time) for a result.
ALSO: a NEW innings (back to the top) is not to be started if AFTER the third out in the BOTTOM of an innings there is less than 5 minutes to play by the plate umpire’s watch.
If you’re still at the top of an innings at the end of regulation time and that half inning is not complete, game is to be called and the scores revert to the last completed innings. To complete a half innings, 3 outs or 7 runs must be recorded.

BORROWING PLAYERS:
If a team has less than seven (7) but five (5) or more original players that team may borrow a player or players from another team/ club of the same or lower division (not more than one division lower) playing at a different time slot, to make the team UP TO SEVEN (7) players. The borrowed player/players can play any position other than Battery. Players cannot be borrowed more than 1/3 of the season.

UMPIRING:
All all clubs must have umpires ready to cover allocated umpire duties.
Junior umpires cannot umpire above their age, unless approved by the SC Umpire-In-Chief. All plate umpires must be 12 years and over unless approved by the SC Umpires Convenor or representative.
All junior umpires, other than stated as above, must be supervised by a competent and credible adult, coach, manager, senior player or registered umpire with knowledge of softball rules.

UNLIMITED INTERCHANGE
is permitted for U8, U11 and U13s only. Normal softball rules apply for all other ages.

DIAMONDS WITH TEMPORARY BACK NETS:
When back nets are installed, the ball is live off the net by either a pitched, thrown or misfielded ball and must be played out.
If Back-nets are not installed and the pitched ball crosses the dead ball line, the ball is DEAD and the runners awarded one (1) base. For an overthrow the ball is also DEAD and the runners awarded two (2) bases.
